What is wallet.dat file?

The first and original Bitcoin Core wallet stores private key information in a file named wallet.dat following the so-called "bitkeys" format.

The wallet.dat file contains your private keys, public keys, scripts (which correspond to addresses), key metadata (e.g. labels), and the transactions related to your wallet. If you have an HD wallet, it also includes the HD seed and the derivation paths for each private key. You can learn more about Bitcoin Core Wallet here.

In short, the wallet.dat file contains all of the bitcoins that were purchased by the owner and then stored in their Bitcoin Core wallet.

Once you make any purchase from us, you will receive a wallet.dat file with the associated balance inside. Each wallet.dat can consist of several Bitcoin addresses.

What are the next steps after your purchase?

In order to access the wallet.dat file, you will need to download the main Bitcoin Core Wallet for your system. Bitcoin Core initial synchronization will take time and download a lot of data (more than 350GB). You should make sure that you have enough bandwidth and storage for the blockchain size.
